The committee considered 3 motions, of which 3 passed, and 0 failed:
1. Approve to August Governing Board minutes and September Agenda. (passed)
2. Amend the Bylaws to remain in compliance of the Open Meetings Act, OCGA 50-14-1(g) to state: “circumstances necessitated by emergency conditions involving public safety or the preservation of property or public services, agencies or committees thereof not otherwise permitted by subsection (f) of this Code section to conduct meetings by teleconference may meet by means of teleconference so long as the notice required by this chapter is provided and means are afforded for the public to have simultaneous access to the teleconference meeting.” The statute was amended in 2021 to provide that “emergency conditions” include “declarations of federal, state, or local states of emergency.” (passed)
3. Motion to authorize the expenditure by Centennial Academy Charter up to 20-percent of the cost of the roof replacement and enhancement work, not to exceed $100,000, and APS will cover 80% of the costs. (passed)
