So that there is agreement between board members on the agenda, and the amount of time spent on the meeting, the board shall vote to approve an agenda for the meeting. To the best of its ability, it will follow that agenda, and allow for the chair to move the board through the agenda as specified.

The WACS Board would like to welcome students, parents, staff and community members. In order to facilitate an efficient meeting, if you would like to offer comments please limit your remarks to the public comment period of the agenda.
No public comment
Community Council leadership met to discuss plans for the upcoming year. Will spend Feb reintroducing themselves to the community. Working on organizing a virtual parent party. Will also be asking families to donate to the school through the council to support activities as well as teacher appreciation.
School Leader gives monthly report on return to school, enrollment, lottery applications as well as a few staff updates.
Discussion on the early successes of the transition of to in person learning. Details on student transitions over the past few months.
Lottery applications down year over year, not only at WACS but across the district.
Additionally, staff transitions discussed, Humanities and IT services roles.
Finance Committee discussion on monthly, YTD and investment performance.
Per usual, the monthly financial package was delivered via email. Monthly outliers this month included, a payment from APS for an overpayment in administrative fees, as well as CARES Act 2 funding letter received.
Governance Committee gives monthly update on Board commitments, as well as on-boarding. Additionally, we've discussed Alyson joining the Governance Committee.
Development Committee - Update on logo, the survey results are being reviewed. Early indication is that the current logo, slightly revised with different colors. End of the year giving review for 2020. The team has discussed the plan for giving for 2021 as well as how we support an strengthened nutritional program within the school. Also, working on an elevator pitch for Westside to have a consistent, concise way to discuss the school in front of stakeholders and community partners.
Education Committee gave a quick update on the progress of the Leadership evaluation document.
