The Meeting will be called to order by the Chair.


Mission: The mission of The Museum School of Avondale Estates is to inspire students, teachers and the community to collaborate to develop strong critical thinking, interpersonal and academic skills in our students, which will prepare them for real-world success.

Public Comment 10 minutes

Our Public Comment period is for members of the public to address the board. The board will listen, but may not directly respond to any comments. Please do not use specific student, teacher or administrator names in your comments as our meetings are open to the public and public record. As such, if your comment is about a private matter, please contact the board via email, or speak to the board chair privately.

Public comment (no longer than one page) should be submitted via email to Katherine.kelbaugh@themuseumschool.org. Your comments must be received by 10:00 am on the day of the meeting. Only those emails received during the allotted time will be read aloud and broadcast. Emails received outside of the allotted time will be included in the Public Comments record for the next meeting.

Actions:

  1. Motion to approve minutes of the November 16, 2021 regular meeting and the November 30, 2021 special called meeting.

Principal's Report 15 minutes

Principal Mike Stewart will update the Board on staff, academics and student body.

Executive Director's Report 15 minutes

Executive Director Dr. Katherine Kelbaugh will provide a report.

Finance Committee and Treasurer's Report 15 minutes

Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair Tamara Richards will review school financials.

Facilities Committee Update 10 minutes

Update from Facilities Chair Jade Yang.

Diversity Committee Report 10 minutes

Diversity Committee Chair Christina Cassidy will provide a report.

Governance Committee Report 10 minutes

Governance Committee Chair Richard Piercy will provide a report.


Elected officers will begin their term effective 1/1/2022. By replacing our Treasurer, Tamara Richards will be removed as signatory on TMS's accounts and replaced with Andrew Tashiro.

Actions:

  1. Motion to elect Maryum Gibson as Secretary.

Board Chair Update 10 minutes

Board Chair Kelly Swinks will provide an update.

Actions:

  1. Motion to move to Executive Session to discuss a legal matter, inviting Mike Stewart to join the board.
