Georgia Milestones Assessments preparation
Currently there are 17 students whose parents have requested to opt out of the test. The director of assessment at Fulton County Schools will send an official letter to the parents regarding the request.
Assessment begins April 15 for students in grades 3, 5 & 8.
Assessment begins May 4 for students in grades 4, 6, & 7.
The committee will access the academic and operational needs of the school.
Review summer reading program materials.
The Scholastic Summer Reading Fiction & Informational Text for all grade levels were reviewed for student interest, complexity level and task/assignment. The team agreed there are many benefits of providing the reading packages to all returning and new to TMSA students. It will eliminate cost for families as well as barriers for accessing the public library. It also sends a strong message that at TMSA, reading is important, fundamental, and required!
Review/discuss 2019-2020 staffing needs.
