Superintendent's Update

The Superintendent provide's updates on the status of the School District

The Principal's Retreat was good. In the breakout sessions we discussed the accreditation and worked on the the artifacts that will be requested during the visits.

How will the upcoming transition into the new building going. We are waiting on Danny's report so that we will know exactly what date we are targeting.

Principal Report

Attendance virtually has been a challenge. We are marking students absent if they are not showing up on zoom. We are working on connecting issues ont he back end. SPED personnel - some oof the students who needed additional services have withdrawn so now we do not need an additional teacher. Enrollment - @Karen Womack what are some of the conversations that you are having with withdrawing families to try and get them to come back to the school?@Keesa Addison - I can reach out to them but what would I say to them. @Pardes Sulaiman maybe we can have an additional message that is strictly about their reasons for withdrawal. @Karen Womack what are we doing to rectify the CSP Budget overage. @Keesa Addison - we are reclassifying some of the expenses to other grants. @Pardes Sulaiman what are we doing about the table legs that I researched for the student furniture? @Keesa Addison, we do not need the tables now because we found some additional furniture that we can use.

Title IX Policy

The Board voted to table the adaption of the Title IX policy until next Board Meeting so that the mandatory training can be conducted.

Artist In Residence (Studio Space for Art Class/Demos)

There is a local artist who would like to partner with us and use one of the classrooms on the non school side of the building for an art studio. I would like to hear what the Board thinks about this opportunity. The Board decided that they thought it would be too much of a risk to make this kind of move at this particular time. They will revisit later.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has partnered with us to offer COVID-10 Vaccinations for our students

Ms. Dames - concerns about the furniture move. Will all boxes and furniture be moved, unpacked and placed in each classroom?

Academica Update

Construction Update - all construction is finished. We are waiting to schedule the 3rd party inspector to come in and do the final inspection so that the process will be started in order to receive the Certificate of Occupacy

Food Services Equipment Update - We are still in need of s 2-door refrigerator and milk box so that we can scheduled the DOH visit in order to be approved to serve meals for our students.

Furniture Set-up - parent volunteers are waiting on a date to on a Saturday to come in and move furniture into classrooms in order to expedite the move into the new space so students can come back in person as soon as possible.
