Mr. Fulton presented the proposed new mascot design to the Board that the former principal had asked the artist to create. The proposed mascot would be available at the Art Show, t-shirts with the mascot, life size renditions of the mascot available at the Art show. The mascot is a non binary and futuristic image. The Board would like to have the students vote on the image and determine if they like it prior to having Mr. Fulton purchase the art work. The Board thought that it is important to have the students by in so that they would be proud to represent.
The Art Show
The two artists that was helping up pull it all together have both pulled out. Mr. Fulton's companies will sponsor the art show. The art show will be on April 23 from 5-8 and we are going to replicate an actual art auction that you would experience at an actual auction. Dress is semi formal. Working with the artist in the Greenbriar Mall and asking them to provide some art for purchase. Their art pieces will be at different price points. They have art ranging from $10 up to $10,000. The silent auction will have clipboards with the starting prices so that anyone who wants to bid will be able to. The art auction piece will close at 7:00 pm. We are asking for a precetage of sale. This years team is Every Child is an artist the problem is how do you remain an artist when you grow old. Ms. Dames is working with the students in the Doodle Club to produce some art that will be presented in the kids portion. We need all art pieces identified by April 1.
@Pardes Sulaiman I am going to reach out to a couple of artists (Taylor Barnett, Antonio McILwaine) that I know and ask them to participate by offering some pieces.
We also plan to have a commentive posture from photo's down through the years that will help to commemarate the schools journey.

The have the monthly data that the Board requested that will show how our students are progressing. The team is here to present February growth results.
We do have growth and learning gains. The students are not at grade level but they are showing growth. We are not at proficiency yet. Next steps for this next snapshot. We will manually increase their grade level which will increase the rigor. In April we do another diagnostic and compare this information from the previous one which will show exactly where the students are. We want a true reading of where the students are.
iReady Reading and Math
Reading Data - The growth check gives us an idea of where they are based on annual typical growth and how far they are from on level proficiency. We are seeing some growth. We are looking to see where the students are somewhat likely somewhat unlikely in each grade.
Vanessa and Vanessa presented a Powerpoint presentation to outline this data.
Math the trends are pretty similar. We do notice that when we move to the upper grade levels the proficiency is lower. We are working with the teachers and have them to move the students up to higher levels to help to stretch them. If if students show that they are unlikely to reach the growth as long as they show progress for stretch growth that is progress.
When we first started looking at the data we saw that the students were really low but now that we know more about the students we see that they are making growth although it might be small.
Expectations that we have of the students and teachers on how we expect them to move forward.
A weekly grade should be given for iReady (Let's incentive the students)
Students should be completing 45 minutes of iReady per week with a minimum of 2 passed lesson in each subject. This is based in their schedule. So they do not have to do this from home. Since we are raising the rigor some we want the teacher to be available to support and assist the students.
Goals are:
100% of students using instruction (This is embedded in their schedule)
100% of students meeting time on task. IReady is used to help to close those gaps while still allowing our students to grow
Proficiency is 70% or higher in each lesson. We want to make sure this is happening since we are raising the rigor. This should help to close some of the gaps that we have while allowing our students to grow.
Next Steps:
Data chats will he had with individual teachers encourage them to go ahead and take a look at each individual student. The classes are smalls so this should be obtainable. Look at lessons to see which ones they are passing. They could just be clicking through the assessments to get through it
Use milestones to plan for instruction. We are going to have the teachers tailor the lessons for each class. Milestones will be used to plan for instruction. We are going to implement a focus calendar to target exactly what they need to show growth. We might not reach proficiency, lets be real but as long as the student is obtaining growth they will eventually reach proficiency.
Continued support of teachers. We have been talking about zooming with the teachers periodically, they have our emails so whatever they need they can reach out to us whenever they need to. We know that his transition has been challenging but we are going to get there. The biggest step has already been established and that is building the relationships with the teachers. This was so paramount for this process. With next steps we can accomplish so much more.
@Alex Tamargo - Mr. Duvo, our West Palm Beach Principal is here in town and he will be delivering a PD to the teachers tomorrow. We have a team working together with him and they will be demonstrating how to unpack standards, lesson planning, and milestones. This has been a work in progress since the townhall. There is a plan in place and we are working it day by day.
SCSC Findings - We did have a meeting with Keesa and we will be working with Shaurie tomorrow to unpack what needs to be done to submit the CAP to the Commission. @Pardes Sulaiman are we talking about the new information that came out from the recent visit. Angelia No, we are talking about the original findings from the first visit back at the church. Some of the thigs that were noted in the recent visit were already in the works. I walked our sign company vendor FASTSIGNS through the building a few weeks ago and identified where we needed additional signage on doors, windows, the red doors that lead to the part of the building that we are not supposed to be using, I ordered DO NOT ENTER Signs for them. The private staff bathroom upfront, the toilet does meet handicap standards, the rails are in place and the height of the toilet meets code. The Pull station is in the front lobby by the alarm system. signage. I have a proposal from FASTSIGNS but I was waiting to make sure our finances were in tact and receive approval from the Board to move forward with implementing these The Emergency Management Information is something that we do not have updated for this site. I will have to reach out to the state and have them send me the application for that so that we can get started working on it.
Reunification center - Ms. Addison worked with a school nearby on this. I just need to find out which one and reach out to ensure that we have everything set up and in place for that.
There was mention of signage that you an see from the freeway, I am not sure exactly how to handle this. @Pardes Sulaiman they told us that the GPS brought them to an area near the dollar store and they didn't quite know how to get to us from there so they were looking for directional signage to show visitors how to get to the school. We have been working with Frankie on where the Pin drop is on Google Maps and so far it has not updated so that it is actually closer to the real location of the school. @Pardes Sulaiman no they were actually referring the the Marquee signs in the front and on the side of the property. Angelia oh no, we reached out to the Mall when we first moved over here and were told that we do not have access to any of those signs. Because this is a separate parcel from the Mall we are no longer apart of the Mall in any way. @Karen Womack so are we not allowed to put up our own signage on the side. Danny - yes we can, perhaps the yard signs around the property to leads to over here. Angelia - I am not sure that they would stay in place longer than a few days. I think people would pull them up and destroy them. @Karen Womack she mentioned that we need to put informational signs up on all external glass doors that inform visitors that they need to drive to the front of the building to enter the school. Angelia, I have door signage coming too. Frosting logo's and put some directional signage. @Pardes Sulaiman can we put the small yard signs maybe coming from the Checkers location directing people to keep drive. Rob Lee informed the Board that he contacts Google every 3-4 weeks and asks them to upload the pin to keep pushing it closer to the location.
Angelia The address in the GPS doesn't bring you directly to the building but I brings you behind the Mall. I will say that there is something wrong with the physical address because I cannot physically change our address online. It tells me that it doesn't exist. But I have done everything required of me on my end to ensure that the replatt was recorded in the Fulton County Land Book. I called my contact back at the Fulton County office and I have not been able to get in touch him to find out why or what is causing this issue. He is the person who assigned the address and he told me that once Fulton County Land department had recorded the address that his office would then contact all the emergency personnel, including the post office, police department and update the address with them and that would make everything on the emergency management side go live. We are responsible for contacting our vendors and informing them of the new address.
The two sets of red doors. Why are the not secured so that people cannot go through them. We were told when the life safety system was upgraded that we could not lock those doors down because they are exit doors. I will have to call Mr. Mapp to see if we can or not. If we can the fastest fix is to have locks installed.

Motion to Accept the proposal submitted by ARS Mechanical in the amount of $54,117.00 to repair: 7 Electric Reheat Coils 5 Variable Air Volume (VAV) Controllers 5 Damper Actuators Electrical Fuses (10 Amp-600 Volt) for 7 VAV Boxes 4 Controllers for RTU (Roof Top Unit)Control and Monitoring
To approve the HVAC quote to address the maintenance issues with the HVAC system
By: Pardes Sulaiman Seconded by: Mamie Grimes
ARS is our HVAC vendor. They spent the first month going through out the entire building once they installed their monitoring hardware and software on our servers. They found that there were a lot of issues with the VAX boxes, units on the rooftop to let us know what was working and not working and that is what this proposal is for. This amount came to over $76,316. When I received the proposal I asked the vendor if he could send me a quote that would only cover the units in the are of the school that we have the CO for. He sent me the map of the school and asked me to outline the space that I was referring to so that he could pull out those spaces and send me another quote that only included that. The new amount came to $54,117. The vendor has noted that the supply company has been holding the equipment until next Friday. The building is quite cold in all the rooms because it feels like the air is on instead of heat. Teachers are using space heathers and that is causing problems with throwing the breaking. @Altrenesha Ervin the weather is warming up now I just wonder if we can make it without having to spend this money.
