Rob Lee - I have a couple of clarifying questions that I wanted to ask, what is the status and eligibility for the $1,000 bonus that Governor Kemp added to the C.A.R.E.S act Budget for educators;
Next years school calendar and schedule; this past year the breaks that we had in the prior year were taken away from us pretty much the time between Christmas and Spring break and I wanted to know if those would be restore this upcoming school year. Lastly are there any plans in place to assist employee's with COVID vaccinations?
Tatiana Scott - my concerns are around school capacity and how do we handle when there is a shift in the in person attendance numbers?
Class size - initially our classes were capped at 15 students in person now the numbers are increasing in my class and the initial procedure is not being taken into consideration.
@Karen Womack What is 50%of our current enrollment be? 6 students
@Pardes Sulaiman Initially the policy was set based off of the enrollment in August.
SLAM Atlanta has 3 findings during the SCSC annual visit
Finding 1 - Inventory Management - Grant ID numbers, Vendor purchases were made from. All fields must be completed.
Finding 2 - Student Enrollment Document -We require SSN and that cannot be a requirement. We must remove the SSN as a. requirement.
Finding 3 - Bullying Policy - Our policy says that there is a 10-day suspension when bullying is confirmed. The State says that. we Cannot have More than 5 day suspension for elementary students.
Financial - Debt to income - we received partial points for this. We were at at 5.1 and we need to be under 5.0.
Out of the 100 points that we could receive SLAM received 80%.
Operational Performance - Partial points received because we failed to comply with LUA (Local Unit of Administration for Financial Accounting.
School Environment - Student and Employee Health received partial points
SLAM is undergoing Accreditation process - we received an amazing report as it applies to accreditation. There were 3 areas that we need to work on. Our current accreditation has been extended for a year.
Congratulations to Ms. Flowers for being accepted into the Doral. Leadership Academy. I am on the Board of DLA and I saw. some very qualified leaders who are still teaching and are qualified to lead. I want to ask the Board blessing to see if I can continue to have these conversations and fill these people out to see where they are and how we can utilize this talent to hep us grow moving forward.
I would like to congratulate Ms. Flowers on a well deserved position with the Doral Leadership Academy. She is a big asset in the Operations and Academics here at SLAM Atlanta. We had 1 confirmed COVID-19 case that happened during the two week transition. There was no exposure to students or staff.
Our counselor resigned her position. I wish her well in her future endeavors. We. have interview two potential replacement candidates.
Intent return forms have been sent. I will meet with each individual staff member over the next few weeks. All teaching positions have been posted for next year.
School Culture - Shout out to Ms. Torrence. February will be a fun month. Ms. Torrence created a character trait with color associated for each week and students will be allowed to dress in a specific color to represent a specific character trait.
@Karen Womack I would like to schedule a deep dive or strategic meeting to go over data. When Alex, Kelly and Ms. Flowers are available. @Pardes Sulaiman the reading scores really concern me
@Kelly Pierce - some of this is a result of not being exposed to al the grade level information yet. There are a number of scholars that are doing worse than others.
@Alex Tamargo - during the SLAM Summit we are going to take a deep dive into each schools data. We will compare SLAM Atlanta against all other network schools.
@Pardes Sulaiman - Most of these students are probably teetering on borderline, etc. and we need to know exactly who t hey are and what we need to do about getting the. where they need to be.
