I) Development Office Updates and Projects

In the absence of board representation on the Development Committee the Director of Development and Head of Schools met to discuss development procedures, policies, current projects and funding initiatives. DPA’s fundraising efforts remain focused on DPA’s four identified priority areas, Student Life, Technology, Fine Arts Capital & Annual Funding.

Bloomerang; Stripe & Accounts Receivables: • Accounts Receivables: o Income Codes established and used to record all known gifts and grants in donor database. o Income Summary Report – Report used by Development to code all income to the correct accounting code and class.
o Policy suggestions for how funds are to be recorded and reported to and by development have been sent to the board for approval through the Director of Finance. • STRIPE: DPA’s first general online giving form has been created. The donate now option will be available on DPA’s website this week and as early as 10.22.19.

Development Projects Report: • MARKETING & BRANDING: In September the Development Committee communicated the need to establish and share DPA’s mission, vision and key messaging before launching our first outside campaign to constituents in the community. Development & Admin have worked with two marketing firms and are currently working on a third proposal/bid, to locate a firm that will assist DPA in establishing it’s branding and visual identity system as well as DPA development and general marketing collateral. A proposal package containing the three options will be provided to the board for review and then a vote at a November meeting. o Marketing and Branding Experts:  Kirbo + Ansley (Lillian Ansley)  Tredeau Design (Meredith & Scott Tredeau)  Flylight Creative (Ariana Thomas) • ANNUAL FUND: o A tentative timeline for the launch of DPA’s first Annual Campaign is 2-3 weeks after the branding project. II) Fundraising Policies - Centralized Fundraising System for DPA

Plans for immediate roll-out of policies to administrators and lead teachers for implementation throughout DPA, supporting Development efforts that lay the foundation for a culture of philanthropy at DPA. The revenue generated from the implementation of plans shaped by these policies, will enable DPA to maintain as well as improve, the operations and educational programs of the school. These policies also highlight the opportunities for DPA to connect with the larger community through online, direct mail pieces and other updates that communicate the school’s mission and accomplishments.

III) Fundraising Plan 2020-2023

Final revision expected November 2019.
