We are presently continuing the examination of our data looking at the root causes. As we go through this process we are revising (rewriting) our grant to fit the needs. We have attended 3 sessions with the state. Our last session introduced the Student Centers that are in place in Marietta City Schools. The centers bring in various wrap around services to the schools. This puts all the community together to identify and work on the problems at hand.
Each grade level team is presently working to input their student data into a dash board. The grade levels will then give info to the principal. We are in need of having a clerk to merge all of the data into one document for use by the board.
After school tutorials will begin in November for grades 3 - 8. Students will be tutored by teachers at DPA. A Saturday tutorial will be designed for those students who participate in extra curricular activities and are unable to attend during the week.
The process of examining ELA textbooks for 6 - 8 and social studies and science textbooks for k-8 has begun.
Our teachers are in need of new laptop computers. The ones that are currently being used have become outdated and do not run well with a lot of the new software.
The PBL showcase will be held November 29th and 30th.
