Welcome and Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Roberta Walker at 10:00 A.M.
HOS/Principal's Report
Enrollment - 513 students
HR - interviews underway for counselor, 5th and 7th grade teacher
2 candidates were presented for elementary principal positions.
final interviews to be held this week.
Special Education - 48 students being served, all IEP meetings are scheduled. Discussion of implementation of more timely transition of classes in order to begin class on time for all students. Progress monitoring is going well with all grade levels with administrators checking regularly.
MTSS- 61 students in the process. Progress monitoring is going well. Some teachers still being assisted by Ms. West.
Other Academic Concerns - Annual report is in progress. Dr. Bostic presented the DeKalb Heat map.
Dr. Merritt presented CCRPI data. Bulldog Learning Lounge tutorial for first and second semester were presented and approved.
Coaches Corner
Testing - AMIRA testing revealed that we have 11% of students at risk of dyslexia- we are looking at a tutoring program to address the problem.
PSAT - 8th grade are currently testing
COgat, ITBS and Renzulli tests are being administered to identify addition gifted students. We currently have 19 students in gifted program.
Literacy and Math - Weekly focus for teachers, ie lesson planning. Peer visitations to give teachers an opportunity to give each other open and honest feedback on lesson planning and delivery of instruction.
