Welcome and Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Roberta Walker.

HOS/Principal's Report


 

Human Resources

  • A candidate, Ms. Driscol, was interviewed for a special education teaching position and is being recommended for hire. Still needed are Elementary Principal, 1 counselor, 1 ELA teacher, and 1 special education teacher.

 

AVC Studio Quotes

  • Three quotes for the AVC Studio project have been collected. Edge Clear Touch is the vendor that will be recommended to the board.
  • Quotes have been submitted for review and comparison to determine next steps.

  Bulldog Learning Lounge

  • A proposal is being developed for the Bulldog Learning Lounge, scheduled to launch in November prior to December MAP testing.
  • Purpose: Provide targeted support to bubble students to improve achievement outcomes.

TKES Evaluation

  • Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) evaluations are ongoing throughout the month of September.
  • Administrators are conducting scheduled classroom observations and performance reviews to ensure compliance and instructional quality.

Student Enrollment is currently 537

Special Education Report

All IEP's are up-to-date with meetings scheduled out for the year with the LTSE. Presently serving 43 students. 24 students receive speech only and those services have begun. Progress monitoring is ongoing.

MTSS Report

61 students are in the MTSS process - Tiers I and II. Students can be referred by teachers and parents. Progress monitoring is ongoing but some there are teachers with challenges. Those issues are being addressed.


 

Coaches Corner

Testing Update

  • Recent notification received that charter schools will be removed from DCSD's Saturday gifted testing opportunities.
  • a proposal was presented to schedule our own testing for 3 Saturdays. We will wait for more information.
  • Amira testing for K-3 has begun. IReady diagnostic has begun. PSAT is October 8, 2025. Resources will be given to students this week.
  • MAP testing is complete. During PLC's teachers are using the Data plan for meeting students' needs.

 

Literacy Campaign

  • A school-wide literacy campaign is being developed.
  • Planning meeting scheduled for next week to outline strategies, resources, and rollout plan.
