Welcome and Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Roberta Walker at 10:00 a.m.
HOS and Principal's Report
Strategic Plan process is being discussed in each committee. We will begin the full process in January.
New Organization chart was presented to committee.
Human Resources update - interviews are in process for 2 special ed teachers, 1 special ed para, 1 4th grade teacher and a front office position.
Resumes and interview score rubric and reference checks
FTE update - funding to be maximized by adding EIP students in elementary and REP students in middle school.
Enrollment - 542 students
Lottery wait list numbers - open enrollment has begun for 2025-2026 school year. DeKalb is conducting this process early this year. We will still have an open enrollment in the spring.

Special Education Enrollment and presentation of “Big Picture”
- Current special education enrollment by grade level - 44 students are being served
- Updated “Big Picture” in pdf shared with the committee
Special Education progress monitoring - Dr. Solomon is uploading progress monitoring info on Mondays. Still working with teachers who are not getting the information in on time.
MTSS enrollment and progress monitoring - 47 students in tiers 1 and 2. 11 have requested to begin the process. Still working with teachers to get information in on time and correctly.
Coaches Corner
Assessments Review - MAP to be presented at board meeting. MAP testing for Winter will be done in November. PSAT is coming up for 8th graders. Gifted testing in progress.
Professional Learning - The school is pursuing Metro RESA for gifted and ESOL endorsement certification for teachers.
