Welcome and Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Roberta Walker.
HOS/Principals' Report
CCV - the DCSD team was at DPA in April and the feedback shared from the visit was very positive. Dr. Bostic will review with the board at the next meeting.
Lotterease has been utilized by determine enrollment of students for 24-25.
Personnel - at this time all teachers who will be offered contracts for 24-25 are certified.
Data - write score data will be shared with the board. This informs us on the readiness of student performance on the Milestones test.
MTSS - the team has reviewed the cleanup data. Work samples are being uploaded by a trained team to ensure the info is continuous and done correctly.
Exceptional Education - IEP's have been updated and parent meetings are being held to bring all IEP's in compliance.
AVC/Technology - an e-gaming club will be included in the after school clubs. TKT Playtime is offering a partnership opportunity. Dr. Merritt will continue that conversation and bring info to the board.
Other Business - MOU's are ready for signature for Kennesaw State and MICO University.. A steering committee has been formed to lay out how DPA will proceed with these partnerships.
The updated 2024-2025 School Year Calendar will be presented to the board.
Coaches Corner
ELA - GMAS prep is in full swing. Lennections program was highlighted.
Math - GMAS dates are April 17 -29. Presently we do not have enough computers for all students to test at the same time. The computers that were expected from Title I order will not arrive in time. DCSD computers cannot be used because they will not run on our network. We will run an A/B schedule with the elementary students testing in the morning and MS in the afternoon.
Academic committee will request an emergency board meeting to see if we can expedite to purchase of additional computers.
Gifted - Ms. Woods gave an update of the gifted student's performance.
Professional Learning - This month will be a book study for faculty.
Other Business - Summer school dates are June 3 - 14th. Kindercamp will be offered at the same time. We will apply to be a summer food site so that we can take advantage of the free breakfast and lunch program.
