Welcome and Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by Roberta Walker at 3:30 p.m..

Professional Development -The professional learning units are being prepared so that teachers will have a full week of face-to-face delivery on such topics as CPR, Sexual harassment, Active Shooter drill, child abuse, TKES, LKES, RTI, and direct instruction

HOS and Principal's Report

The HOS and principal will give academic progress of the school - New teacher orientation for 25 teachers is going on now. There will be Professional Learning for all teachers July 25 - 30. All textbooks have been ordered and on schedule for delivery before school begins on August 1st.

Search for Principal Update and Plan - Ms. Smith is functioning in the position of interim principal. We will begin interviews for principal position July 22. The panel on interviewers will consist of administrators, teachers, parents and board members. There will be a slate of candidates ready to present to the board at the August Board meeting.

Core Subjects - Student handbook and the School Safety Plan are ready for Board review. Master schedule is being worked on by Mr. Dennis. We will ask Dr. Blackshear to assist with the development of the master schedule.

Other Academic Concerns - Positions to be hired are gifted, paraprofessionals, building assistants and EIP teachers.

We will purchase the Rosetta Stone curriculum for the Spanish teacher to use during the 2022-23 school year.
