Welcome and Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. by Roberta Walker.
Virtual Learning Phase III
Close of 2019-2020 - attendance is waning. Every grade level has lower participation. There are staff members assigned to call parents to encourage them and let them know that instruction is ongoing. We will recommend to the board that we end instruction on May 22, 2020. This is the last day that grades can be posted in infinite campus. We will need to use the additional time to prepare for a summer session. Parent survey will be sent to get parental feedback about when school should close for 2019-2020.
Summer Opportunities for Students - June 1 - 19. Instruction will be virtual and face-to-face if we are allowed to return to school. We will serve all students 1st through 8th grade. We will include our present 8th grade class since they will not have connected with a high school. A survey will be sent to see which students need to check out computers. Arrangements will be made to issue computers to students.
Summer Opportunities for Teachers - teachers will be surveyed to see if we can recruit them for teaching summer school. We will need at least 2 teachers per grade level.
2020-21 Budget Items
We will use the remainder of textbooks budget to purchase computers and
consumables need to purchased for 2020-21 - Gallopade and Superkids
IReady for reading and math - computer program.
Since we can't have the installation of the Smartboards those funds can also be used to purchase computers for students. It is important that we equip our students with computers, starting with the middle school and 5th grade.
