Welcome and Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Roberta Walker at 1:00 p.m.
Data Dashboard Progress
The Board Dash board is being updated by Mrs. Strickland. The information will be condensed to be presented to the Board on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The Otis dashboard has not proven to be a useful to us. It can only house information from MAP. All other student data is in Infinite Campus and that information can not be transferred over. We will not continue to pay for and use the Otis dashboard once the subscription expires.
Academic Concerns
We will order additional IReady books so that we will have a complete set for each grade level, 3rd - 8th. The cost is $4,211.90
DCSD is recommending that each school use IReady electronic program to monitor Tier I and Trier II MTSS students. The I-Ready electronic program is approved as a Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention because it individualizes to each student's need, has embedded progress monitoring, and has been research-proven to be effective. The cost for our school is @$15,300.00. We presently have 180 students in the MTSS process.
We are fortunate to have one of our part time interventionist teachers who has been trained in StemScope. She has been working with our teachers in the area of science.
The elementary Spanish teacher has chosen to use the PBS curriculum. It is a free resource. Middle school Spanish will use Pearson. The cost is 2,500.
During the 1/2 day professional development day the teachers received training on AVC and special education co-teaching.
Staffing
We will make a recommendation for hire in the following positions:
7th grade science
8th grade science
special education
Once these positions are filled we will be completely staffed.
